David Rovics is a social justice songwriter and folk musician. His website offers a calendar called “This Month in History and Song” with key dates in people’s history and songs that can be used to teach about each historical event.

Rovics lives in Portland, Oregon and tours regularly. He has had his music featured on Democracy Now!, BBC, Al-Jazeera and other networks. His essays are published regularly on CounterPunch and elsewhere, and the 200+ songs he makes available for free on the web have been downloaded more than a million times.
