The Agitation with a Smile: Howard Zinn’s Legacies and the Future of Activism editors and contributors are hosting a special event on the release of the paperback edition of the book. The program will be held at Bluestockings Bookstore in New York on Saturday, May 31 from 7-9 pm.
The presenters include:
- Frances Fox Piven, CUNY professor and author, Poor People’s Movements and Why Americans Don’t Vote
- Martín Espada, “the Latino poet of his generation,” UMass professor, performer in The People Speak
- Ross Caputi, Fallujah Marine Veteran, Veteran for Peace, and founder, ISLAH
- Patricia Moynagh, Wagner College professor and feminist theorist
- Book editors Stephen Bird, Adam Silver, and Joshua Yesnowitz
The event is free and open to the public.
