Cindy Sheehan’s son Casey was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004. She read this speech at the Veterans for Peace Convention and the next day she was camping outside then President George W. Bush vacation home. Bush refused to meet with her but Sheehan galvanized sentiment against the occupation of Iraq.

Cindy Sheehan’s Speech to the Veterans for Peace Convention (August 5, 2005) is read by Staceyann Chin at an evening of performances May 2, 2007, at The Great Hall at Cooper Union, New York, New York.
