Women’s History Month

While women’s history should be taught all year, we can use this month to examine our own knowledge and the curriculum for the stories, organizations, people, and analysis regarding the role of women that are missing or misrepresented. On the Zinn Education Project website we offer lessons, books, and films to fill the gaps. [Click here.] Our featured title is Hands On the Freedom Plow: Personal Accounts by Women in SNCC, a history of the Civil Rights Movement, from sit-ins to Black Power, through the stories of 52 women.
